The room
A steel plate with opinions
The pit is not a theater of launch decimals. It is a plate that keeps a bruise long enough for Nestor to chalk it and for Maren to wait on the trail.
Suite 2 used to be a marine-survey annex. The floor still smells faintly of diesel on wet Tuesdays. We kept the steel because clay photos on a mat lie about depth.
You stand where the tug maps used to hang. The plate sits low so the exit trail can be seen without kneeling like a pilgrim. Nobody gets a grind speech before the first bruise is photographed.
What lives on the wall
A strip of ruined range balls, each with a date and a weather note. They are not trophies. They are reminders that a pretty draw on a dry Tuesday is not the same animal in channel wind.
